So I'm lookin' for a PC game from the 90's.....

I posted this question yesterday with only 2 answers...neither of which were right. I'm hoping this time to get more of a response.

It was a sci fi game and I'm pretty sure it came out between '96 and '97.

In the game you come across and "abandoned" space craft and go in to explore. The rest of the game insues from there. Creatures around every corner. One creature I remember in particular came up from a big hole in the flooring. All that rose were tenticals (I think they may have had eyeballs on the tips). You had to shot one of the tenticles a certain amount of times to get the creature to decend.

I know this discription is vage, I'm just kinda at a lose here. I would appreciate any guesses as to what the game might be called or even if you can suggest a good web site to search. Thanx in advance!!
