...customers? I am going to open a small online store and was going to use paypal, till I found out how large the fees are. I have heard and read good things about using the Google system on my shop, but I want to know how easy it us for *Customers* to use this system if I set it up.must the register and verify an account before they can buy from me, or can they plug in their credit card without having an account?in a nut shell, Google Checkout sites only be used by buyers that have already signed up for a Google checkout account?

Before you do that, This company gives you software for free if you ask about it. They also give free step by step training. They beat discount rate quotes, so you can get fabulous rates. The customers don't need an account either. Everything is encrypted when they put in their credit card, so customers will feel safe. Call this company or fill out the form and they will email or call you. It is a great company. We have never had any problems. Best of luck to you!PS. I don't think the paypal fees are a big deal if you get a buisness account. I'm not too sure about Google checkout, it just looks like Google is trying to get itself into every market it can, in this case a wanna be ebay. If your going to open an online shop and want to start small, I'de start with Ebay and your website yourself. Ebay has more shoppers on than Google checkout probably ever will. Why stop there though, Google checkout is feesable and using paypal as a crutch is possible too. If the paypal fees are to high, charge a fee when people use a paypal method. Clearly state that people buying with Google checkout will save money on the purchase fee.
