What software exists that helps get my website in the top 20 hits on Google or Yahoo Search? I was told that there are computer programs that are supposed to help make my website be one of the top twenty or top ten search results when someone searches keywords or whatever on popular search engines such as Google or Yahoo. Or is it better to just pay Google a fee to have my website be one of the top twenty or top ten?

There is no software that can make your site at top 10
You can make your site more visible to others who search the internet.

that's all & all your keywords that are relevant for your site will display your site in the 5 - 10 page range of Google & 2 -3 page range in yahoo & so on for other search engines.

I personally would suggest you to test your site with all the latest & best softwares & see for your self whether you catch up with the giants.

you must have active content in the site with good keywords and your site optimized for search Engines. Another way is to pay money to the search engines so that your pages will be included and displayed more frequently. But, its costly for small organizations or people like me.

What you can do is to submit your pages frequently to search engines and web directories and optimize your pages. Softwares can help you in this tiring work.

hei - if you try harder
you can use a IPB or AddWeb Promoter to submit your site to hundreds of search engines & then search for your own content.

Click as many times after searching & make your site on the top list

See my site as an example -
search - "localads" on Google my site Flickall.com/localads comes in 5- 10 page results

But if you search "post localads" - mine come 1st or 2nd result in 1ST PAGE.

these software are not that reliable based on my experience I have a software before submit my site and I got only a few results after a week. but at least you site is being scraped.
