Java Vs .Net

We are going to have a debate on Java Versus .Net. I really don't know .Net. I am looking for some real points to backup Java. Can anyone help me to get some. What i know is Java doesn't work as .exe but a .class file is executed by the Java Virtual Environment. And how does this make it more secure. I didn't get the concept. And some people says that both the Java and .Net uses Sand Box Model. Can anyone explain about Sand Box model. And CAS(Code Acess Security). This i think is a term related somehow to Dot Net

the .exe generated by Visual Studio .NET is executed by CLR (.Net Virtual Machine), both are insecure by default because you can uncompile Java and .NET code and get original source code.
