Post Can search bots follow javascript links???

I am using a javascript navigation bar in my site. I have a doubt whether the robots or spider or whatever you call that of search engines that index our site can follow these links.

This doubt came to me because some parts iof my site are highly indexed in Google and Yahoo and other search engines while some are less or not at all indexed and the main link between these parts is the javascript menubar created using Xara Webstyle. I know that the robots follow almost all the links present in a page(at least of that in a highly popular page). Also, I have put a noscript attribute for the non javscript supportable browsers...

Waiting for replies,
Regards,
Tvm.

Google may crawl the URL in a javascript link, but I have yet to see any evidence that a javascript link contributes to PR or other kinds of backlink influence.

I'm pretty sure that Google just stores code as a text-only character string, they don't parse it for algorithmic page scoring.

i dont think Google will import javascript document.write type links

anyway try it out & see what happens.

use a test page & see whether its imported, its always better to use other types javascripts are now not often used i think you should use CSS or DHTML which is better than javascripts & will be 100% addedd to Google index cache.

all the best bizzard have a great day

with Javascript, I can use the same navigation bar in every page. So, even though I need to change a link or add any content, its easy because I has to edit only the javascript file and the images associated with it. I am using Xara Webstyle 4 for the purpose of generating navigation menu.

I am not much familiar with DHTML. Also, does DHTML or CSS offers a facility to make a single file for the menu a call it from each page needed.

The code I use now to have the menu in place is as below
<script src="images/headings/bizzard.js"></script>
can the menu be made as simple using any other programming methods?

With regards,
Tvm.

CSS is a great choice because all formatting is now standard to use css and can format and change the setup of html files and how they look.

CSS is a better option as it doesn't suffer the same problems like JavaScript where it needs to be enabled and can be disabled too.

hei bizzard
You can dowload samples from DHTMLGoodies.com & CSS sites

Just search for CSS Menu or CSS code samples in Google

You will be able to find the best of nav bars for your site

have a great day my friend

yeah, I searched in the web, even the sites specified in the above posts. Many navigation menus are javascript itself and I am using one among it. The CSS menus are not as what I thought. They use CSS only for the formatting. All the links are to be placed in the HTML page itself. I want all the links in an external file as in javascript menus, so that editing a single file can change the menu in every pages.
