You can install any programs on Linux, it's essentially open-source

Of course you can not ! Shake is Mac OS X only ! Buy a Mac run it or stop thinking about it and choose another software. The Mac is UNIX based, but there is a great framework around the UNIX (POSIX) kernel inside. Any Apple Application is based on this framework so you can not run it on any non Mac operationsystem.

If you have no idea just shut up ! commercial software, will never be open source ! Commercial means you have to pay for it !
