Default RT61 in...

...ubuntu linux? I have recently put together a computer so that i could learn linux on it, and i tried to get all linux friendly parts. I read somewhere that my wireless card was supported in linux but for some reason it won't connect to any networks. It sees them in network manager but will not connect.it is a MSI PC60g with the RT61 chipset. can anyone help?ps. I have seen the guides on ubuntuforums BUT most of them are concerning WPA, I just want to connect to my unencrypted network. this computer will be in different unencrypted networks (my office, and home)any help would be appreciated.
