Default

Well first of all did you enable the restricted drivers? To check go to the "system/administration/restricted drivers manager menu, is it listed there and enabled? By default Ubuntu should have detected your video and loaded the driver, but you have to enable it. After checking that if you still do not have res control run this from a terminal:sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorgThis will launch the xserver configuration tool, when you get to the resolution selection use the space bar to enable the ones your monitor can run at. Also make sure you have the H and V freq's for the horizontal and vertical, or you can try and let the wizard autodetect it, I usually input these manually. The rest of the wizard is pretty easy, use the defaults.
