Default Whats your CMS/forum

On my old host, I'd used Seditio, a free(non open source though) software from neocrome.net . It is excellent for single sites, but when i moved here I tried to combined three sites on one database(so as to share userbase, forums) and it failed spectacularly, so I intended to switch to joomla, but it had 1741 and my ftp timed out every 1 or 2 files, so I gave up and I'm gonna use wordpress and simple machines forums when the host restarts my account.

Default Use joomla again

I think you can use joomla again on profusehost.net w/o worrying the fpt upload process which sometimes disconnected. bcoz now on profusehost's cpanel there is an auto-installer script (Fantastico - which I dream it long time ago) to install Joomla

have try! login to your profusehost cpanel account

my site is also joomla+smf ..
1 advice if you want to bridge joomla and smf ..
dont use the bridge provided by joomlahacks ..its buggy ...
use the bride download on the main smf site ..simplemachines.org

more facilities as in a feew more modules like the login box nd new 5 posts and one or two other mods n mambots.
but, instaling the smf vis their requirements is really a waste of time.

My cms is joomla and MkPortal.

My forum is phpBB 3.

I have recently started using MkPortal as it integrates nicely with phpBB and other forums and is pretty dam powerful.

To go to the Mkportal site go mkportal.it and joomla.org for Joomla's website.

If you are still having problems with joomla with linking in a forum try MkPortal.

Only downfall at the moment is the version that supports phpBB 3 gold is in rc status at current point in time but is great software I recommend you try it out.

I like mambo more than joomla ! both are quiet similar to each other, but for what ever reason joomla seems to have an permission error when I tried it first so I chose mambo.

But in general I use the CMS and forums or blogs I wrote on my own. Like Snoop1990 - Latest Blog Entries and Snoop1990: index

vBulletin is quiet expensive, but it is a very good choice for professionals. Just look around, how many professional forums (like this one ;-) ) use vBulletin. It seems to be quiet great, but I was not able to test it yet.

my friend told me to use vBulletin since it is a very great forum. So i switched from SMF (opensource forum) to vBulletin and was very happy with it.

So it is worst spending money on vBulletin if I want to build a community ? I want to found a web designer forum so I need some special features, are there some extensions available for free ?

Joomla my CMS and if I want forum integrated with Joomla I install Fireboard.

If I only need a standalone I choose PHPBB3 and/or SMF depend on situation.

As I mentioned above I was looking for a forum that offers more opportunities than phpBB2 but is available for free or open source.

And I found what I was looking for: http://newsboard.unclassified.de/

"The Unclassified NewsBoard has a lot of innovative features the world has never seen before in this way."

Feel free to try it and report your experiences.

I am administering Joomla, Mambo and Drupal but not yet tried any forums. I didn't find any need for having one. I'll be happy to work with forums, if anyone need help in administering it...

I can use Drupal, Joomla and MkPortal. Would like to learn how to use Typo3 as well. Forum wise I know how to use phpBB and some of vB.

I also administrate all these types of sites as well.

I use Wordpress as my blog. I like SMF as a forum. In paid forums, I prefer IPB over vB because of its security features.
