Default have you try new Centos 4.4 or Fedora Core 6

for Centos (server-purpose linux) if you didn't choose any GUI and Desktop Manager -- it'll install X and KDE base package
and for Fedora Core 6 (all-around and desktop purpose linux) it has new feature in GNOME which make me wan't to upgrade my FC4. it's called Desktop Enhancement

just try one of them

complete opinion

Default

I tried FD6 last week. The video config did not work and I would have had to edit the file and it was a pain. I run Suse 9.0 and 10.2 and they are okay but a little slower. I just started using Debian, Absolutely love it and highly reccomend!!
