| I have wireless internet connection. But, my computer always get disconnected after a few hours. Does anyone know what I can do to prevent it?. I'm running on Windows XP SP2. Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz 2.39GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM. My wireless card is a Wireless G Desktop Card 802.11g 54mbps. I am receiving internet from a Netgear Router 54mbps. I have have switched phones with the same frequency, but yet, there is still problems with my connection. Does anyone know how I can prevent it from disconnecting so much without changing my wireless card or router? |

| It sounds like you need to buy a wireless adapter booster to boost your wireless connectivity as it seems like you are experiencing drop outs in your connection. These should be able to be directly bought from Netgear at http://www.netgear.com. Make sure the one you buy is directly compatible with your router and supports wireless g connectivity. You can check the wireless connection in your house by looking at the icon on the right hand side of the task bar to see whether it is just a connection issue or if it is something more. It has nothing to do with the spec's of your pc other than the wireless card and the Netgear router. Could you please post the model number of these if you require more help.

| umm... its a belkin wireless g desktop card. i dont really feel like buying anything. but i think the main problem is either one of the router or the network card. i seem to be getting 100% connection but. it just sometimes just get dc. and sometimes after i get disconnect. i sometime have to restart my computer just to get it back connecting. and other things. like when im playing game. it doesnt connect. like connecting to battle.net in games such as starcraft and diablo 2. i cannot log in due to some connection issues :[ |

| I would suggest you return the Belkin Wireless Desktop Card if you just bought it has I have never bought Belkin but my IT client has Belkin and I have personally had to go over there twice to fixx just the router as it kept stuffing up and then re-did it again but was fixed without me needing to goo there. I would suggest you buy a new one and buy Netgear. Netgear is the best. I have never had a problem with their products before. Maybe the Belkin desktop card isn't completely 100% compatible with the Netgear router.

| No probs. If you need anymore help you can email me at admin@wired.profusehost.net. If it ends up being a connection issue that the connection isn't very high for someone reason try moving the router to another possibly higher location so that the connection penetrates more. Sorry I couldn't help you any further. If you still want to pursue this problem the only thing left to do would be to contact Belkin directly as they are the manufacturer of the card and they may be able to direct you to a software driver update and might be good to check for the router too which may fix the problem.. Sorry I should have thought of that earlier.
