How do I get Smash Bros Brawl (US version) to work using the Freeloader?

Ok here goes my story...
I have bought the freeloader(european version) and a US copy of Smash Bros Brawl...
I put in the freeloader disc twice, then put the game in.(my TV was set on 60 Hz)
I then got prompted with the update, which I did, then my Wii rebooted automatically(everything's pretty normal here for the minute).
When it got back on the main Wii menu(big trouble) I couldn't get the game disc out, so I turned my console off, unplugged it, replugged it in and eventually got the disc to come out just by ejecting it...
The only thing is, is that when I repeat the process with the freeloader it won't work anymore -_-.
If someone could please help me with this issue (I heard that lots of people have had trouble making the freeloader disc work first time going) I'd be really thankful.

That is very worying, I have just ordered a freeloader and Smash Bros Brawl, what freeloader was it. Is it the Datel one with blue and white packaging?

I believe an update makes Freeloader not work anymore. You might have to buy a newer version. Don't take my word for it, though. That's what I heard
