does ps3 games run on ps2 ???

Games that are developed for the PS3 wont work on PS2 because of difference in architecture and processing power of these consoles. There are going to be some game titles that will have separate versions for both PS3 and PS2, but graphics will be a lot better on the PS3.

PS3 is backward compatible and should be able to run most games for PS2 and PS. The initial versions of the PS3 had the chip used in the slim PS2 to achieve backward compatibility. But later version make use of software emulation.

PS3 games are not compatible with the ps2 but ps2 and ps games are compatible with the ps3. All hardware and software is forwards compatible generally but never backwards compatible it is impossible.

ps3 is also a home media centre type setup. It has a large 60 gb drive and has a blu-ray drive so that you can play blu-ray movies through the ps3 as well which are of a higher quality than dvd.

There is no way to make a ps3 game work on a ps2 system, but you can do it the opposite way, you can play a ps2 game on a ps3, just certain games i believe

I've never heard of a console being forward compatible. That would be stupid.

The initial PS3 could emulate the PS2.

Like 10 can contain 7, but 3 of course can't contain 6. Understand?
