i was about to buy a ps3 until i got shocked about this statement!!?

it says the ps3 CAN'T PLAY PS2 GAMES!!!!WTF!!WAS IT LIKE THIS ALWAYS CUZ I AM JUST FINDING OUT ABOUT THIS.IS THERE ANOTHER 80GB PS3 THAT CAN PLAY PS2 GAMES??

There's 2 Different Consoles...there's The 80 Gb, And The 40 Gb. The 40 Gb Has No Backward Compatibility, Meaning It Cant Play Ps2 Games. The 80gb Has 85% Compatibility For Old Ps2 Games, So The Majority Will Work, Yes.
The Old 60gb Ps3 Has 100% Compatibility, That's Why It Was So Expensive Then ($600) , They Took Of The Emotion Chip To Reduce Cost, And This Move Downgraded The Backward Comp Feature. But Its Still Not Bad, Trust Me...it Will Be The Best Console You Ever Bought Believe Me..i Have It. (metal Gear Baby!!)

i know! i was about to do that too when i saw that statement! I spent like 600 dollars on games and cannot use them on a ps3. Sad enough though, they do not make a ps3 that will play your ps2 games

I got a 40GB PS3, and though I couldn't play PS2 games, I haven't regretted it. Best console ever.

I traded all my PS2 games in and then bought PS3 games....might be worth doing that?
