problem with my ps3 i need help!?

this morning my brother was playing our ps3 and he shut it off with the switch in the back in the middle of the game and now when i turn it on it plays the intro and freezes before the XMB shows up. i've had it for two years so i dont think i can get a new one for free. is there anything i can do to fix this i kinda afraid of sending it to get repaired because i still have all my credit card information on it.

Give it a rest, probably overheated?
Or just contact them OR search the internet. I'm sure many have similiar problems.
