| Just wondering if anybody here might've had the same problem as I do with phpBB. I've talked to people on phpBB's support forums, but nothing helped. I've installed phpBB many times, on different hosts, and each time, I haven't been able to log in properly. Often I'd only stay logged in for about 2 minutes. I've found out the reason for this though: it appears phpBB has an IP check for logins etc, and just my coincidence, my ISP proxies each and every IP transparently, so checking my IP would come up with different results. So I've managed to log into everything I need to on phpBB using a proxy off a friend's server, but of course, this isn't all too convenient. If anybody has had this sort of problem before with phpBB, let me know? I'm really not sure how to fix this. Another thing though, is that on certain forums I am able to login etc for a long time, so I'm pretty sure that I don't have to use a proxy to do this... I'm able to stay logged in on phpBB's forum itself, for instance.

| well, The problem is it's using sessions to log you in instead of cookies. You would have to hire someone or do it yourself, but have the logging in changed to saving cookies instead of session data. |

| Dude, who's your ISP? I'd like an automatically-proxied IP so it comes up different every time...hehe. As for your problem, it seems like quite the predicament indeed. You can always try removing the IP checks from phpBB - perhaps a bit of an undertaking, but it would take care of your problem. That's pretty much all I can suggest. |

| I have been using PHBB 2.x for a while now and just had another check on my forum's admin panel but there is no simple way to change the logging of the IP. Why can't you login as admin from more than one IP address as I haven't tried logging in as admin from another location but I am sure that my IP on my computer has changed from different times of logging in when the internet has gone done and I have had to restart it. Why don't you try creating another user and give them administrator privileges to the board and see if that will fix your issue.
