Default PHP and MySQL Help

Does anyone have a good website to get me started on using PHP with MySQL? I have neither PHP experience, nor MySQL or SQL Server experience, although I do program in VB.NET. Something that is a bit fast paced might be good. Even a good book would work. Thanks!!

A great tutorial can be found here at PHP: - Manual (this is very detailed, very good for learning php as an professional but maybe a bit to complex for beginners)

Another php tutorial can be found here PHP Tutorial - Part 1 (this is easier) and they also offer a tutorial but php and mysql PHP/MySQL Tutorial - Part 1. Just try it !

If I have some free time I maybe write a php tutorial for beginners.

Php is easy to learn, but difficult to master !

But for beginnings in web development php is the right way to start. Just follow the tut tutorial, some other tutorials there are lot of them free available on the web.

Printing is not at all a problem with PHP. You could use all the formatting available in HTML, CSS and all. For LAN, you need a server to run PHP and MySQL. If its a short time need, try XAMPP. The server files can be accessed over LAN by typing the IP of system in which XAMPP is running. Let me remind you, its just for test purposes and not at all an alternative for a server. There are many security risks behind using it as a server.
