Default cfeedback - A side like PEBA

How hard would it be to setup something like this site? It looks like they use Mambo (?) - PEBA - Home

It wouldn't need to be nearly as fancy but I'd want links, on the left, a middle "frame" which would pull articles that are somewhere else on the site, and another "frame on the right with current status, etc.
The important question is if you want to use a CMS (content management system) or if you want to build it all yourself. It is a lot work to do to write something like mambo or any other CMS. It would be much easier to design a skin for such a CMS. Then you can design your side the way you want, your style but you do not have to handle with all those background system.

I wish I knew what I wanted! I'm mainly looking for something easy to maintain and not too difficult in the initial setup for someone of my ability. Basically I want the front page to look attractive but most of the league activity is in the forums. Here's some other examples from leagues using the same (OOTP) baseball game:

PEBA - Home
The International Federation Of Baseball - Home
GUBA

The first two are very fancy IMO and look great. The 3rd isn't as well designed but that might be more to my abilities.

Also, the game can upload its generated html reports file by file or in a tar.gz format which uploads significantly quicker. Problem is, it takes awhile to run the sim and generate the reports so I'd like to click on it before I go to bed and have it do everything automatically. Is there a way I could have the tar.gz file unzipped automatically at a set time? Is that something cron would do?

Thanks for any help!

Small update - I'm playing around with Mambo now and I have to say it looks great! I didn't know about Fantastico when I installed phpBB3 but I used it for installing Mambo and everything seems to be going smoothly. I should be able to figure out how to customize this to suit my needs without too many problems.

That sounds great! I am happy you found the right solution to fit your needs. Also I am not that kind of guy who like those content management systems for my own sides (because I like to be free and customize my side and the system behind like I want) I use them for some minor client sides because it is quite easy to setup and manage those sides.
