What's with my PHP script?

Hello. I was just trying a PHP script that when the variable $maintenance equals greater than one, it redirects to the maintenance page. I'll put the code below:

For some reason, it keeps showing the $maintenance=0 page even if I put the variable 'index.php?maintenance=1'. Plz help me out!

ok, there is something wrong with PHP itself. I tried it on another server running PHP and it worked! What is going on?

(PS: I think I should tell the admins!)

You try setting your PHP in CGI permission such as 755 or 751?

Yes I did. Twice to be precise. Is it just me or the server is acting strangely a me?

OK. Now this is even freakier! the PHP mail() function is not working! This is the code (Just the sendmail code):

i dont think so coz this person actually got the email sent out. I dont! I check my account email every time it fails.
