Default Request for Auto Ad Removal

Hi,

pringlepowwow.profusehost.net

I used fantastico to install phpbbs in folder /phpforum under /public_html.
While I can access the forum I cannot access the admin functions. All I get are the ads at the top of the page, and a few lines below, the links that normally appear on my web page.

My assumption from perusing threads is I need to have the auto ads removed and then I have to replace them with profusehost scripts.

Is this assumption correct, and if so can you please have auto ads removed?

Many thanks,

Dana

I have removed auto ads from your site. For forum, please make sure to place the ads in the first post or after the first post.

John,

Thanks, I have the profusehost ad code in my web page now and that works ok.

I have not quite got a handle on ad codes for the phpbbs forum yet.

Am a real newbie at operating a forum. You said ad code should be pasted into the first post in a Forum, is that correct? Which code are we talking about? I have posted ad code in the first post of Test Forum to no effect.

John,

Do I need the footer code as well? That I will have to talk with PHP users to figure out if it is necessary.

I still cannot get the ad code to display in the forum.

John, or others...

Not getting the hang of including ad in my newly set up forum. Having spent quite a bit of time on this it has me considering upgrading to a shared basic budget hosting plan with Psychz.

Do I need my own domain name to do that? As far as I can tell I can't have a sub domain as here. pringlepowwow.profusehost.net.

I have a support ticket with Psychz regarding this but in the meantime while I wait to hear something back I'm trying to understand the process. If I get a paid plan and register pringlepowwow.com, which is available, what happens when I ask them to transfer my account from profusthost? Is that going to break things? Simple minded questions I suppose, but I am trying to avoid headaches if I upgrade and reduce the amount of time taken to have things working. My four year old son is tired of looking at me working at the computer instead of playing with him.

Thanks... Dana

I am really sorry about the technical problems. Paid hosting will not break anything. Our support staff will move your files form "free hosting server" to "paid hosting server". All you have to do is sign up with paid hosting and submit a email to support@psychz.net and ask them to move your account. They will need your login information for the account on "free hosting server". Simple give them the username, password and free hosting domain. Also, you will need to provide the username and domain name for the paid hosting account. Once the account is moved to paid hosting server, you will be notified by email.

Please keep in mind that you will need to make few minor changes to your forum settings since you were using a subdomain. You will need to log into your phpbb config later on and change the subdomain to your own domain name.
