There should be more forums for people to talk about whatever or at least a general so we can talk and if we notice a problem we can answer we do

we are trying to stay away from "general" section because it might lead to spam and can make it very unorganized. I can make a section for specific topics such as politics, college, education etc if you want.

na dudes there are a couple forums that ARE needed. One is a place where people can be paid to do work for you. Like being paid to install a couple scripts or something. And another you need is a forum that you can post your site and get people to rate it.

Yeah. I know that there is a review website section somewhere and I do occasionally find it but it needs to be listed as a subcategory under internet or something and we do need a general category even if it is only for a period of time when we think of a new category and when two similar threads on the same interest area get posted it becomes a new category and get someone to monitor the spam as I don't think it would be a problem.

If you are worried about the spam I am happy to be a moderator of that new section to delete the spam when I see it and to forward the report emails for that section to me if you would like me to be a moderator.

It would also be good to get some more members on the forum and promote it a bit more even if they aren't hosting their sites with Profusehost as it would set you up in a good position when they or someone close to them asks who is a good webhost they would hopefully say Profusehost as I continually find that there aren't enough posts to reply to to get up to 30 posts and make them decent, each and every one of them..

I think that we need more moderators, lately it seems that the amount of spam has increased. We need more moderators to deal with these people, hopefully before they can get such a large number of spam posts in such a short time.

I don't know if there is already, but maybe you could implement a wait of 60 seconds between posts or something? That might help deter it a bit.

But yeah, mainly need more moderators.

Me too, I'd be happy to volunteer as a moderator.

It's gotten a lot better over the last couple of weeks though, there seems to be a lot of new members.

This would deter users like me from posting on the forum in some situations that may occur. These sorts of settings can help but they can also be a pain if for whatever reason you post something than quickly edit it and you then will not be able to save it till after the 60 seconds.

Does anyone ever reply to the posts in the suggestion area anymore as my last post hasn't got a reply yet either.

Hmm, true that could get annoying pretty fast, perhaps make the limit only apply for posting new threads?

I don't know, I get the feeling that there won't be any replies for a while...

I agree that sounds like a good idea.

Yes. Most posts take ages for a reply through out the entire board and if it is asking for help regarding something more complex or difficult most of the time there are no posts or at least not useful ones.

I think that we need more members that post regularly but Profusehost also needs someone to run the forum and keep up all admin posting and keep sections like this answered when we suggest stuff.

That is my only criticism of Profusehost the downtime which is ok for a free host but is frustrating sometimes and the forum when you don't get a reply at all from admin staff esp. in the suggestion board.

All support however is answered and dealt with promptly though.

sorry for not replying on time. The main reason the suggestion page is all the way at the bottom. sorry again. As for maintaining this forum, we are not in a situation to hire more people to help us around the forum. Also, we can't assign our members to manage the forum because from experience that only works for few works and they all quite eventually.

If a members finds spam, they can report it and we will take care of it. If you guys feel you are running out of posts, you can always create your own. As humans we are always learning about new things everyday and I am sure one is able to put that learning into few words and post it in the forum.

Downtime is our main focus for now and we are trying our best to fix it before it gets any worse.

Thanks for the reply John. Just what we needed to hear. Maybe checking the suggestion board occasionally and making quick brief replies to suggestions would be great but if it cuts into the support time and reply period then don't worry as support is always quickly dealt with.
