I live in in Canada, in southern Ontario. I would avoid Ontario in general, especially this area (we are right across the border from Detroit) which is very polluted and not very scenic at all. Personally I really dislike this area. The air stinks, the water tastes bad, drive out into the country and there are NO trees, only corn and soybean fields...plus the collapse of the manufacturing industry in Ontario has left thousands unemployed. It's very difficult to find a job here.
Many areas of Canada however are quite beautiful, especially on either coast. British Columbia (on the pacific coast) is supposed to be the most beautiful area of all, and it has Vancouver which is a very large city--but it's very expensive to live there. The east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island etc.) is cheap to live but there are few jobs there as well.
The provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan are booming right now because of the oil industry, but beware, the cost of living there is skyrocketing.
Quebec is a very nice province, but you might have difficulties there with employment unless you can speak French (unless you are in Montreal perhaps).
Are you thinking of moving permanently? Keep in mind that Canada has "free" health care. You never have to pay for a doctor's appointment--not directly, anyway. We have health care but as a result taxes are very high, much higher than in the U.S., which also translates into higher prices for things like gasoline (petrol).
