Default Computer Issue

Lately, I Been Getting This Problem With My Computer. It Starts To Freeze Up Making This Sound. I Don't Know If Whether Its My Cpu Or My Wires. Everyone Once In Awhile It Does That. But Lately, Its Been Acting Up. Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Solution To This Problem Without Going To A Store To Let Them Check It Out?
My Computer Is Windows Xp Sp2 Intel(r) Pentium(r) 4 Cpu 2.40ghz 2.39ghz, 1.00gb Of Ram. If You Have Any Way Of Solving This Please Tell Me.

does anyone know how to solve this problem. this problem is really gettin on my nerves. it always freezes. RAWR!!! >:0 . soo mad at this. does anyone know whats the problem or the cure for this problem. if you do so, please tell me. it freezes up everyone once in awhile and its buggggggin me soo much... it freezes up from like a min to like 5min. sometimes i even have to restart my comp, but it still freezes up as it is loading up windows.

From what you've described, it sounds like it might be your PSU. If it's freezing up and making a noise, I'd guess it could be failing. What sort of sound is it?

Could you please try and give a slightly more detailed description of what is going on doomed suggestion does not seem to work such as what were you doing before it crashed, what exactly happens and how did you fix it to get it working temporarily again.

Could it be a bearing in the HDD? I work with ancient equipment quite a bit and a hard drive going out can be noisy and it can also go slow. If he/she turns off the computer for a while the heated bearing may cool down and be OK for a while.

i think it does the battle neck. try using a 768mb of ram, i've encounter this before with my Pentium 4 when i put a 1GB RAM kingston, it doesn't install windows XP but replacing with the old ram 512 MB it does. try also checking the clock speed of the RAM it might bottleneck

Sorry but this thread is from mid last year to late last year!

I think the user would have fixed the problem by now!!
