I heard that making a scratch at a particular part of the CD makes it unable to copy. I am not sure about this. But, I found some of the CD's which cannot be even seen in computers but work well with VCD and DVD players. Most of them have lot of scratches.

I have seen no copy protection that was not cracked two weeks after the official release. You only have to place an information on the outside that you do not want the others to copy your disc. Then if anybody copies you can sue him if you want to.

Or give other reasons to buy the CD maybe give a free t-shirt or some nice photos and the people are going to buy the album.

About the scratches, that might cut out some copy software, like clone CD or alcohol120% but it would not stop the professionals, they can easily manipulate their cd drive not to skip the parts with the scratches.

There is no 100% security !

Everything can be cracked. But they sure can get the security in games up. But it would make it a pain in the ass for the people who are fair enough to buy it in the shop.

yeah same .. i guess its pretty useless to place copyright protection on CD and or even on DVD, coz' crackers can still cracked it and somehow redistribute it for free.

Or another give away !

Why do not you write down the serial number each cd has and then you give away one free video or so for everybody who registers on the page, so you are able to track your customers (the video should be copy protected so it can only be downloaded and played not copied to another computer or so.)

And what happened? Isn't there pirated windows XP and Vista working all around the globe?
As I enquired, what naives was selling was few videos related to functions in his school and by now, its all over. Don't know more about what happened there.....

Of course you can find many many programmes available at Google.com to prevent people from copying files from the CD and using it for other purposes, but it would still be possible for these people to copy/rip them out through their own means with the use of advanced technology nowadays.
